Our Story

Wiglesworth's Mercantile features a little bit of everything with one consistent thread; we only offer regionally sourced New England products, hand made where possible, that come from small, authentic vendors like us. The name ‘Wiglesworth’ is a family name and was once attached to a collection of farms in Kentucky (and a bourbon distillery!), which was also the passion and livelihood of entrepreneurs focused on community, building something with others, and giving back.

Today, we are passionate New Englanders with a firm belief in the value of shopping small, supporting community, and growing together. After earning her MBA at the University of New Hampshire and working 20 years in small one-door retail establishments, multiple startups, high volume ecommerce, and corporate retail, Anne created Wiglesworth’s as a venture to follow not just her passion for retail, but passion for helping others, community, and giving back. We love finding new Makers and Artists to partner with and learn about, which is our favorite part of what we do and the driving force behind why we founded Wiglesworth’s. We feel honored to carry on the name and honored to partner with the Artists and Makers who make the store what it is.
